Runner-Up of Schuh 'Street-Style' Competition!

Wearing: Skirt - Misguided. Top - Market stall. Socks - New Look. Shoes -Schuh.
This post has been a long-coming yet very exciting post to write! A while ago back in November I was contacted by Schuh to say I had become a runner-up in their ‘street-style’ competition! I was so excited as I never really win anything and I can’t really remember specifically entering so it was a genuine surprise! She told me I would get a card with up to £75 pounds on it where I could buy one pair of shoes. Everything leading up to the festive season got in my way so it took about a month and a half before I finally went to Schuh and bought these lovely new wedged trainers. I've seen wedged trainers around for a while and loved the look of them just never thought I would be brave enough to try it. However when I saw these I knew I had to get them, they are the right combination of leather, suede and subtle studs. Then the heel! I love it, they are surprisingly comfortable and make an outfit a whole lot better.

Recently

I love this time of year. Between Christmas and New Year when you have the excuse to just do nothing. Although I probably should be revising for my GCSE mocks which take place early to mid January, I can do that early January. At the moment I am still in the laziness of Christmas although I actually ventured out of the house today to hit the sales. Although the three purchases I came by, only one of them; a top-type-dress from Zara, was in the sale. My other two buys from New Look - plain black knit leggings and a black and gold leather satchel - were excellent everyday buys. Most of my clothes I got for and around Christmas have been going along the black and white monochrome theme although occasionally throwing in a bit of Burgundy ( which me and my sister Madeleine decided it was the 'Colour of Christmas') and emerald here and there. I am very excited to style these pieces of clothing and really extend my blog in the upcoming 2013.
I have a very exciting post coming tomorrow with my new wedged trainers - which you might have already seen on my instagram - which I won from a schuh competition. Don't forget to follow/contact me on the following social media sites, I love interacting with fellow fashion bloggers!

Colour of the Year - Pantone Emerald

Kate Middleton wearing a Pantone coloured dress (Getty)

So as 2013 draws upon us (Thank God, the world didn't end!) my cousin emailed me a couple of lovely articles on the new named 'Colour of the Year.' This colour is PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald.  It is an emerald green that is predicted to come out in lots of different ways in 2013 such as in clothes, interior and beauty. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute commented: “The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other colour in the spectrum. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.” As seen here The Duchess of Cambridge was ahead of the trend when in October she wore this Emerald Mulberry dress and looked lovely, as always!
Personally I love this colour, it is a lively, radiant, lush green. It gets me so excited to break out all the spring, summer clothes because although at the moment I am loving the winter greys and blacks I cannot wait to wear the bright colour my favourite season summer brings a long.

Clothes Show: Part 3

So this is my third and final Post of my Clothes Show Series, I hoped you liked hearing about it and maybe that is has inspired you to go next year! I got a lot  on this day, I have bruises on my arms to show the lines of where my bags dug in! However although I got a lot, it was only £32! It was amazing all these 'goody bags.' The Models Own one was worth £70 and I only payed £10 I thought it was such great value for some simple and some eccentric things that I wouldn't normally buy. I loved the Barry M Goody bag because although there were quite a few bright dazzle dusts and eyeliners I would never wear there came some lovely nail varnish's with a handy bag. The Jelly Pong Pong goody bag came with a lovely highlighting pack and a new mascara.
In the midst of my revision this week I have not been able to put the book 'Beautiful Creatures' by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl  down which introduced me to the new world with Ethan Wate and Lena Duchannes with the casters and  with light dark. I loved it, although it was very fantasy which is not normally my cup of tea I was very intrigued. It is coming out in cinemas on February 13th and is pegged to be the new 'Twilight' and 'Hunger Games.' From the trailer it looks very exciting! I would urge you all to read it over the Christmas week.

Clothes Show: Part 2

Wearing: Top - Market in New York. Skirt - H&M. Tights - Primark. Shoes - New Look.  Jacket - New Look. Bag - The Cambridge Satchel Company
So this is my Clothes Show: Part 2 post. I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in a while so I was happy when the opportunity popped up to have an outfit post on this outfit I though I would go for it. The setting for the photo's is very random as we were waiting on the train platform for a while after a mis-hap with the trains. Although it is quite random it adds to the grungey feel this outfit brings. At the moment I am loving just T-shirts! My New York one has served me well and I just want more with different writing etc. They're also just such a comfy top. I love these tights and at first was quite apprehensive in how to style them but I think it looked alright!
Anyway I'm off school for Christmas now! However I have all my GCSE mocks in January ( as well as my birthday!) so have started the major revision today, oh joy.

The Clothes Show: Part 1

I had the most amazing day at the Clothes Show in the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday. I have got three posts lined up to do with it; The Day, My Outfit (Plus my friends!)  and What I got. I thought I would start of with the day post. So as we clambered on to the train after a very early start we ( as in My friend Heather, Gabbie and I) talked about what we we're excited about during the day. The hall was absolutely massive! There were a uncountable number of stalls selling various clothes, all in one size.
I knew that Zainab, the winner of Styled to Rock was going to be doing an interview on a certain catwalk. I loved Zainab on Styled to Rock, I always thought the outfits created were amazing and always unique to the celebrity. Although I also loved her own style throughout the show. I was actually really excited to hear her interview where she talked about her upcoming lookbook and things to do with New Look in the future. I was also intrigued by the talking of how the Internet is such an important platform for young fashion people. They then talked about bloggers and got us up to have a photo with Zainab. As I went up for my photo I handed her my blog URL which she later tweeted!
The fashion show in the theatre was breathtaking, it was a mixture of beautiful clothes and fantastic dancing. The theme was a day in the Life of  a Fashion Magazine. This meant it went through model casting, photo shoots, office work, award shows and much more. They had a range of clothes from High-Street to Couture. Once this had finished we went and participated in a very funny 'Model Masterclass' It was actually really interesting although I don't think any of us our future models!
It was a fantastic day, made even better by meeting Zainab!

December Wishlist

I am sat here having the most chilled Saturday Night. I'm sat here watching the Xfactor Final, waiting for my nails to dry and scrolling through Polyvore to give me inspiration for my Christmas outfit. Nicole Scherzinger is literally amazing, I love her fashion sense and every week she comes out she looks just stunning. She also just always comes out with funny comments and just generally seems like a really funny woman, I'm not really rooting especially for anyone to win, its just between James and Jahmene for me. I've loved throughout the show following @XFACTORSTYLE on twitter as they update it throughout the evening with what everyone is wearing, its all very interesting! Tomorrow I'm going to the Clothes Show, I'm very excited and intrigued for this event as I have not been before. I have seen so many different things happening there over twitter all day which just makes me more buzzing. I will hopefully get a post up about it over the next few days!

School Girl Crosses

Wearing: Skirt, Jumper and Boots - New Look. Blouse - Republic. Tights - Marks and Spencer.
So, I've had another busy weekend! Yesterday I went to Westfield with some of my friends and its just so pretty. They have all the Christmas lights up and its just beautiful. It was such a nice day browsing all the shops with my friends. Today I went to Brighton to see my sister at Uni and had a lovely day seeing the sea and having a massive dinner.
I wasn't too sure about this outfit as the with the jumper and skirt i felt quite shapeless but overall I quite liked it, especially with the blouse to jazz it up a little bit!

Brightly Patterned

Wearing: Top - Topshop. Skirt - Miss Selfridge. Boots - New Look. Tights - New Look.
So, Once again I apologise for the photos. Now I look at them I quite like working with a white background as this outfit is very bright so it stands out more however it just doesn't look as professional and have that certain 'photograaphy' view that I like to have on my outfit post. But, we'll work past it!
I loved this outfit because I had forgotten about this skirt from last winter and suddenly found it in my wardrobe. I thought the colour would look perfect with this bright collared top from Topshop. To make it more wintery I added these lovely knit tights and my handy studded ankle boots from New Look. I decided to have my hair in a bun because It's quite a 'blogger' trend so thought I would try it although I hated not having my hair down although I liked the outcome.
I would really like to write about what any of you want so please comment with new post ideas! Like a video, make-up post, wardrobe tour; anything you want!

Breaking Dawn Part 2 - Review

I haven't done a film review on my blog in a while so thought after an afternoon out at the cinema with my mother I would review the AMAZING Breaking Dawn Part 2 and last in the Twilight Saga.
I was quite apprehensive  yet beyond excited to go and  watch this as I had heard there was a 'twist' and after even being told by my friend who is a twi-hard (I just has to say it, despite the cringe!) it made it 100% better, I still wasn't too sure. Although I do think I didn't want to go as it means the end of twilight! However when 'twist' happened my jaw literally dropped, Its true that it did make it 100% better and gave it more depth into the storyline.
I thought it had a great range of funny, emotional and happy moments. It followed the book very well and in the ending credits when they referred back to the books which just made my heart warm. After seeing the first part of Breaking Dawn I reread the book, in three days. Which if you know is quite a beasty book!
Anyway I absolutely loved this film, it was the perfect ending to the whole 5 films. It acknowledged the fact that it was the end by having the end credits going through each character it was just amazing with Christina Perri's 'A Thousand Years' playing in the background, just thinking of it gets me emotional that its the end of the series!

Keeping Warm Inside

Wearing: Dress - H&M,  Cardi - New Look, Boots - New Look
The rain ruined my morning. I had planned to have a productive morning getting my mum to take photo's of a couple of outfits so I could be more prepared over the next couple of busy weeks but with a crazy amount of rain last night and it still going this morning I had to resort to taking my outfit posts inside, I don't know if I like the change or if it just looks a bit weird! As for my lack of posting, I'm sorry. I was ill last weekend, work was piling up and I saw Wicked on Thursday night (absoloutely amazing!) although I know, excuses excuses. I'll try to not let that happen again!

As for this outfit, I was rummaging through my sister's wardrobe and found this dress from H&M. I love the dots and the fit of it. I thought i might as make it a winter 'cosy' outift by pairing it with knit tights, knit boots and a knit cardi. Guess What? I love knit! I do think I look a bit like a 5 yearold but I thought, why not channel my inner five year old and feel all cosy and ready for christmas!
