Attempted Monchrome

Wearing: Top - Zara. Short - New Look. Wellies - Next.
So I had planned to have this post as a 'Monochrome' theme post but I decided I didn't want to ruin my precious wedged trainers so I went for the wellies instead! I love this top, when I bought it there was only an Xtra Large, so on me it is more like a dress rather than a top but thats what high-waisted shorts are for. I had a lot of fun taking these photos, as you can probably tell. There are many photos of me trying to give a serious pose but just smiling instead. I spontaneously went in the middle of the road because, lets face it, no cars were driving along this country road!
This week I have been swamped with homework and dancing that I am fully ready for the weekend. Just one more day of school to power through! I literally am not too sure If I've ever been this excited to go shopping on Saturday. As I still have lots of birthday money which is just burning a hole in my pocket. I also finally got round to ordering my Company magazine subscription, Wohoo!

Recent Fashion Books

I got these two books for Christmas and my birthday and love them. They both are two different books showing two different bits of the fashion industry. The Style Feed goes through the most recent and popular bloggers. It shows the different style and layouts of each blog. It’s really interesting to read through the first blogs that have now influenced the fashion industry to grow through blogs. The different images they pick from the blogs shows the uniqueness of each one in just a couple of pictures. The Phaidon The Fashion Book is completely different to the Style Feed but in an intriguing way. It goes alphabetically through influential people in fashion. It has designers, models, photographers, Tailors and even Icons. It such an interesting book that I think anyone who is interested in fashion should read it!
As you can tell, I love books and obviously fashion, so when the two come together I always find it amazing. In my first picture you can see my stack building up and hopefully over time I can create a rather big collection to raise inspiration and knowledge from.

Bows Burgundy Biker

Wearing: Dress - H&M. Jacket - Republic. Tights - New Look. Shoes - Schuh.
These photo's were taken at the weekend when the snow was completely fresh. This is a dress I got from H&M for a great £14.99. It was my 'Christmas day' dress. I Love the detail of the bow and the lovely Burgundy colour. This leather biker jacket is literally my new love. It fits perfectly and has the right amount of detail on the shoulders and collar. I thought these tights made the outfit more exciting and contrasted to the block colour of the jacket. I have just been scrolling down Forever 21's website as I have birthday money which just wants to be spent on clothes and a company magazine subscription! I love these wedge's (I just wish it was summer so I can actually wear them) , these shorts and this lovely polka dot blouse!
On Monday night I actually was able to contribute to the #fbloggers chat. This take place every Monday and Thursday from 8-9 and has various topics which many bloggers contribute their opinions on and at the end share all our links, It's a great way to communicate with fellow bloggers and would urge you to get involved!

January Polyvore

So today was going to be a great day. Well after I had my RS GCSE in the afternoon. All my friends were going  come over, we would all get dressed up go to Pizza express all to celebrate my birthday. However, the snow had other ideas. Due to the heavy snow it was a trek into school for the exam but we had to cancel our plans. So instead of all that fun things I thought, as I neglected this blog all week because of revision I would do a good ol'd polyvore!
I love all of these clothes and  was quite surprised at myself that there was not that much black featured on the board! I love this grey t-shirt with leather shoulder pads and pocket from missguided, it would look perfect with a wet look skater skirt or some denim shorts and black boots. I love this Schrunchie! It reminds me of the ones gymnasts have to wear but scrunchies are coming back in and I'm very tempted to do my first DIY on a velvet scrunchy. As well as taking various outfit posts in the snow tomorrow I am thinking of shooting my first video, so keep an eye out on the blog for that!

What I got for my Birthday...

So as I write to you today I'm quite frustrated as I have got so many new clothes because of Christmas and my birthday and so many exciting outfit posts ideas bundling up in my mind and yet I have been unable to take them! I have been so busy recently as I am in the middle of mocks, it was my birthday on Friday and my Mums birthday party last night - Happy Birthday Mum and thank you for continuously taking the photo's for my blog, really appreciate it, Love you lots xxx -
Also the weather and just lots of different things have just stopped me taking outfit posts. I know, excuses excuses! So instead of some long awaited outfit posts I thought I would do a 'What I got for my birthday' post.
I was so happy with all my lovely presents for my birthday, they all went along the Monochrome colour scheme. This white blouse and black high-waisted shorts both from New Look and are just so beautiful. They are both two staple wardrobe pieces that are going to be so useful. This lovely Barry M 'Gold Mine Glitter' is a lovely mixture of black a gold sparkles, perfect! I was so delighted to receive the Gossip Girl season 5 DVD as as you can tell from my last post about Blair Waldorf's style, I love gossip girl! This amazing 'The Fashion Book' published by Phaidon is a book I always read about and I finally have it! It concludes of all different iconic people in the fashion industry from designers, photographers and stylists. And then, My Iphone5. I'm in love. Its so nice not to have a cracked Iphone anymore. I'm not sure if I have put it down since I've got it! Anyway hopefully by the weekend when this run of exams are over a couple of outfit posts will be coming your way. Keep following me on all media sites (especially instagram as since I've got my new phone, I'm obsessed even more!)

Blair Waldorf

Photos all taken from Polyvore and Tumblr
As soon as the last ever Gossip Girl was aired on television and the world found out that all along it was Lonely Boy pulling all the strings and was the notorious 'Gossip Girl' I have begun to watch the Gossip girl again, from the very start. Along with trying to see if it was obvious it was Dan I have been fixated on Leighton Meester - Blair Waldorf's style. She is literally perfect. In the first too seasons she is preppy,  classy with a little bit of of an edge. Blair has made the headband an iconic Gossip Girl look as it was worn by 'The Met Step Girls' who were basically the rich, posh and mean girls. I love how the within their school, Constance they're school uniform can be changed lots so they were bright tights, frilly blouses and various outerwear and accessories. I wish ours was like that!
In the last episode where Blair finally married Chuck she wore her incredible wedding dress by Elie Saab and looked her absolutely gorgeous self. It was gorgeous and worked well with her updo with of course - a signature headband! One interesting fact I found out about whilst reading some interviews with the costume director Eric Damon is that throughout most of the series they tried to have Blair and Chucks colour of their clothes compliment each other. You can read some of those interviews here and here. I just loved Blairs style and how it evolved throughout the six series although One question remains on my mind - Why can't I rock a headband like Blair Waldorf?

Brightly Delicate

Wearing: Skirt - Forever 21. Top - New Look. Shoes - Schuh
So I thought I would do a blog post and the end of my very busy day seeing loads of my friends....Jokes, I've been shut up revising all day and week and I'm just so bored, I have gotten to the point of wanting my exams to come just to get them over with. Forgetting theres the real ones in Summer. But I must say I am looking forward to this Friday, My birthday!
So this is an outfit with my blue forever 21 skirt that I wore to pieces about this time last year but haven't worn it much recently however when I was styling this lovely black sheer top with the delicate collar I thought this bright skirt would pop and match perfectly! Please excuse these photos as these were taken the other day and literally as soon as i stood outside it started raining so they were taken very quickly!

Beautiful Books

Happy New Year! I hope 2013 will be another year full with exciting and wonderful opportunities and memories!
So, I've been on my blog's Twitter quite a bit recently and this evening I read lots of different blogs - From Islaay's post on her favourite bloggers of 2012 - and just was really excited to blog!
I thought I would write about these beautiful books I got given for Christmas from my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins.Although the weight of them added together is huge they are packed with clear images of style from the 18th and 19th century in one book and the 20th  in the other. In the first it book it takes you travelling through the 18th and 19th century seeing all the wonderful dresses that have some delicate and exquisite patterns on. It shows you the different corset women had to wear - even a metal one!
Then the 20th century book takes you from the flapping 20's through the change of style when women where allowed to show their ankles and wear trousers! One of my favourite era's was the sixty's the 60's came with the mini skirt. Oh, its just all so wonderful!
As you can tell, I could go on forever about these books because they really are just so interesting and wonderful there's so much to say!
