Got that red lip classic thing that you like

My recent obsession with roll necks is a bit out of control, the last three days I've worn them and I'm planning on wearing another one today! I remember when I was little my mum quite often wore them and when ever I would I didn't like them, I felt like they were choking me but fast forward ten years and I can't get enough. However they do still remind me of my mum, I think I look really similar to her with this style, especially with my short blonde hair! 

This is becoming my go-to outfit for any slightly more dressy occasion as it is so simple and comfy to wear but paired with my heeled boots from new look and my new coat, it works quite well to fit the 'smart-casual' look. I'm planning on wearing it tonight as I'm going to the West End to see The Scottsboro Boys with my friend Vicky and I cannot contain my excitement, I'm a sucker for a good musical!
My life the past couple of days has been recuperating from the past hectic term at school by watching a fair-share of The Vampire Diaries as well as rushing around the shopping centre looking for Christmas gifts - 8 days now!

14 days! 14 days I haven't posted in. And I am ashamed to admit it but I don't have some long-winded profound apology for my lack of presence on the blog, all I have is my moaning about school taking up a surprising amount of time that I have been either working or just too tired to write. Plus I have actually been having a little bit of a social life ( a shocker, I know! )
But once again, because I can't seem to get over a trip that happened a month ago - here's another flashback to Chicago! This one, shot by The Bean - All I think about is The Vow.  Now I really wish I had this kimono earlier on in the summer because I just felt so powerful and free wearing it, like no-one could tell me wrong. It's weird isn't it, the sense of security and empowerment you can get from once piece of clothing? Baffling, I know. But it is a Tuesday night and I have had a very unproductive evening with another attempt at a personal statement and one paragraph of an essay being written so excuse me for my deep thoughts on one piece of material. Enough of my babbling, hopefully I will be back permanently soon possibly even with some recent and up to date outfit posts!

Summer Shade

I seem to love putting my hands in my hair...

I wore this outfit to a barbecue that I hosted for my friends just before I went away. I was stressing about what top to wear but luckily I found this peplum top in Madeleine's drawer which I think fits perfectly with this outfit. It's definitely one of my favourite outfits of the summer so far. I love the free flowing feel of this kimono and do wish I jumped on the bandwagon a bit earlier!  Also a lil' shout out to Vicky for being the photographer, obviously our time in Photography AS has paid off!

Right now I am sat inside jamming to 5SOS's album, taking a break from the sun and about to make a Mango shake with Madeleine. Chicago was a dream, my heart definitely belongs in a city but it has fully worn me out (You'll be getting the posts about that shortly when I've recovered!) but today is the first day of my week and a half long chill time in Florida. I've already spent hours in the pool and listened to a heap of new albums. Life is Good.

Little Black Dress

Since when I was little getting a real Christmas tree and the little trip out to choose and collect which one we want has always seemed like a big deal. So this year, I decided to take my camera with me and attempt to take some outfit photo's whilst there. However my mum started to shoot me whilst I was amoung many tree's and it ended up other people laughing at us so we quickly cowered away and put the camera away. I did get a few pictures though!

I ordered this dress from Asos two weeks ago to wear to the #WWMeetup (see my last post) and it seems to fit every occasion possible. I've also been wanting to wear knee-high socks for it feels like foreveeeeer but I always was too worried with how to style them and what they would look like etc. But I decided to wear some low denier black tights aswell as the socks to make them a little less stand-out and I must say, I am pleased with the result! I decided to go with a classic red lip (which I was very happy that it got a complement for how long it stayed on at my friends Christmas Dinner!) and winged eye-liner. The dress is a lovely soft material that feels almost like your in you pyjama's but looks a little better that going out in them, however much I want to.

#LDNBloggersparty - Outfit

Wearing: Top - Primark. Skirt - Forever 21. Sandals - New Look. Sunglasses - Primark. Lipstick - Rimmel - Drop of Sherry.

This morning when the recent issue of Company Magazine came through my door I was thrilled and then when I saw the beautiful Hailee Steinfeld gracing the cover I was so excited that I actually could have screamed. Unfortunately I had to control my excitement and scream as we have decorators in to decorate my brother and sister's room and I think they would have been a bit startled. But I am honestly so looking forward to reading Hailee's interview and analysing everything in the magazine this afternoon.  

This outfit is what I wore to #LDNbloggersparty (see that post here.) I was very stuck on choosing what to wear as through the tweets on twitter I gathered people were dressing up a bit and even contemplating wearing heels. But I just couldn't deal with traipsing through London in heels, or a dress so I opted for this handy Forever 21 skirt which I just can stop wearing and my Primark top with the neck details I though spiced the outfit up a bit. These sandals, well, what can I say? I love them. ( First of all don't judge me on my horrid feet - I'm a dancer!) When I had been thinking about what summer shoe I wanted I pictured the white flatforms from Topshop but when I stumbled across these in New Look and tried them on to be a perfect fit I just couldn't say no. They are the perfect monochrome combination with studs and twists in the leather to let of a bit of a western vibe. Overall I felt this outfit to be the comfiest and convenient outfit to wear to my very first blogging event.

Bluebells

All I really want to do right now is sunbathe with a Costa toffee creamy cooler reading MissVogue in denim shorts and a retro bikini. I literally can’t wait for summer. Seeing the bright colours of the bluebells has got me so excited for warm weather. I have wanted to do some outfit photos in this lovely wood for so long but have had to wait for all the bluebells to come out, luckily this weekend they were out in full force so I jumped on the opportunity and went to shoot. I decided to wear a fairly dark outfit to contrast with the purple colours then a summery hairstyle. I’ve started reading The Great Gatsby as I am so excited to see it as it has got so much buzz about it in film, fashion and music world. I always think films are way better if you’ve read the book beforehand so I thought I would try and power-read it this week before hopefully seeing it the weekend. My days are just full of eating, revising and dancing at the moment so drop me a comment below if you have any suggestions for different posts.

Down the Dusty Track

So for a break for revision, well rather procrastination, me and my mum decided to go and take these outfit photo's. So we set out, the sun was shining, I sat on the gate, my mum turned on the camera; 'Camera Exhausted.' We trudged back home, tried to learn some Latin vocab, drank coffee  whilst the camera was charging. When we went back for the second time there was a storm brewing. It was extremely windy as you can tell from the ruffles in this beautiful chiffon top and the crazy hair. I've been wondering for a while how to style this dress I got from Misguided and paring it with this delicate top seem perfect to match with the aztec pattern. So that's the exciting story of these photo's being taken!

I go back to school tomorrow for the last four weeks in my senior school before moving to Sixth Form next year, I'm not too sure how much Stylestorey will be kept up during this busy revision and exam period but as always, I'll try my best!

Spring Stripes

 I surprised myself during mine and my sister's shopping trip the other day by buying something that had colour in it and was not a monochrome themed piece. I am of course talking about this lovely turquoise skirt from Forever 21. It is such a lightweight material and the colour just gets me so excited for spring. The whole shop of forever 21 just was so bright and colourful, I want it to be summer/spring instantly! I matched my dress that I got from Missguided with this as I thought the stripes and boldness contrasted well. It must be said that it was a lot of effort this outfit post as I went to a Cody Simpson concert last night. (If you've been reading my blog for ages you will know that I'm obsessed with him!) Which was literally amazing but tired me out a lot. But, the things I do for blogging!
