Spring Vibes

Wearing: Top - Urban Outfitters. Skirt - Boohoo. Jacket and Shoes - New Look. Necklace - Market in Russia

These photo's are a prime example of the lengths I go through for this blog...
So yesterday evening I actually ventured out the house - something I haven't done in a while as revision is slowly swallowing me up whole - to go see Divergent with Bryony and Ella. Oh my days, that film. I have been waiting for it for ages and it fully lived up to my expectations, I came out of it just in a daze. It. Was. So. Good. And now I want to go and reread all the books!
But back to the story, I decided to wear my new skirt from Boohoo with my Urban Outfitters blouse and thought I might as well look for a different outfit location so drove five minutes until I found this wooden fence that looked perfect. After realising there were stinging nettles in front of it I traipsed through two other gates to get into the field for the wooden one. However I was in such a hurry I didn't look where I was going and ran straight into about 5 inches of mud! Well, at least I hope it was mud...So these photo's were taken with extremely muddy boots and in a rush as I had to go home before going to the cinema and I was already running late.
So that is my recent clumsy saga. I'm currently having a product lunch break from revision, sat here blogging, purchasing some new albums, eating lunch at staring out at the sun. Although I'm revising the sun makes it feel like life is pretty darn great at the moment!

I would be absolutely thrilled if you could perhaps nominate me for the best teen fashion blog for the Company Style Blogger Awards , I don't expect at all to be on the shortlist or anything but I figure I might as well try! I'm going to be nominating some of my favourite blogs as well so get thinking and nominate here.

Instagram Lately #2

I am having a bit of a frantic morning but trying to stay calm so I thought I would do a quick blog post. I've got my ballet exam later this afternoon which I'm trying not to freak out about then I'm off to Russia tomorrow! I'm really excited but it feels slightly surreal, so be aware for photo-heavy posts when I return. These are just a few of my instagram photo's from the last couple of months. I love instagram to bits and have a feeling it is what I'm going to be updating the most the next couple of days so make sure to give me a cheeky follow over there!

Also another cheeky plug, the Company Style Blogger Awards nominations are open! I would be absolutely thrilled if you could perhaps nominate me for the best teen fashion blog, I don't expect at all to be on the shortlist or anything but I figure I might as well try! I'm going to be nominating some of my favourite blogs as well so get thinking and nominate here.
Now watching: This fab youtube series about California All Star cheerleaders! I'm literally obsessed and amazed by how hard they all work.

Recently Reading

First of all, excuse the quality of the photo's, I've been an incredibly bad blogger and 'misplaced' my SD card so had to take them on my phone. This post is just a catch-up on what I am reading and will be reading throughout the year.
Actually I should have put this in the photo as well - Blogs! I have become recently obsessed with reading all the blogs I follow on the Bloglovin app, it's so easy to read each new post as it comes and on the go.

Teen Vogue - I have been subscribed to Teen Vogue since February 2011 and since then every year my grandma and grandpa get me a years subscription for my birthday. I just love every issue so much, it brightens my day when I get home and it is sitting by the door for me. I haven't fully read this issue yet but I was very happy with Ariana Grande being on the front cover as I love her album and her fashion sense, I would say she is one of my girl crush's at the moment! Teen Vogue always have such innovative idea's and this being the social media issue they seem to have exceeded my expectations once again. I'm extremely happy to have this subscription for another year.

Rookie Yearbook Two - This is one of the books that whenever I see it (or the first edition)  I just look over it until someone comes and pulls me away. I asked for it for my birthday after being reminded of it through Ellie's post so Madeleine and Matthew got it for me. I love it. I can't really describe how much I love it. It is supeeer thick so I haven't fully read through it yet but it seems just so cool. There are so many intriguing and thought-provoking articles and the photoshoots look amazing. The layout seems perfect and overall I'm just so excited to be able to read through this fully then have it there to come back to all the time for inspiration and shizzzz.

IT by Alexa Chung - I have wanted this book since before it came out and my friend Chilli got me it for our friends Secret Santa. I love Alexa and love her even more after this book. Even though its extremely random and I would say there wasn't a huge amount of content I really enjoyed it. The pictures and the insight to what Alexa Chung thinks was really interesting. I read it all in one night the first day I got it and I definitely think I already need to re-read it. Can I have Alexa's wardrobe please?

Company - I've bought every issue since August 2012 and have just renewed my subscription. Company is such a great magazine purely for the fact that is made in London, has super cool content and is made for a target audience with bloggers (like me!) in mind. They are very present online all the time and I'm a part of the Company Collective on facebook which is a great group to be a part of to give our input whether it be cover stars, favourite bloggers or choosing the design of the spine. This Paris issue has made me want to go to Paris soooooo much. I just really want to 'pop' there for a day or so in the summer and just enjoy all the tourist-y things and then the not so tourist-y things!

So that is a quick peek into my bookshelf at the moment, hope you enjoyed it and it wasn't too long and too boring!

Ramones

Wearing: Top - New Look. Skirt - New Look. Shoes - Schuh.
I surprised myself when I got this skirt out of my wardrobe. I got it last year and haven’t worn it much. I was always a little stuck on what to wear it with and when etc etc. This Ramones top is so comfy and I seem to be living in it at the moment. It fit perfectly with this skirt. The skirt shows a girly-side which coincides with spring and the sun which has suddenly appeared recently but the shoes and top still bring in my gives it a twist to be more my style. I didn’t expect to get any outfit posts done this weekend but when the sun was shining and the revision just was not going in I couldn’t help myself!

Easter Elegance

Wearing: Shorts - New Look. Shirt - New Look. Blazer - H&M. Shoes - Schuh.
Happy Easter! I Hope you all had a lovely day. I certainly did as it was my Dad's birthday as well so it was a double celebration with a roast and a ton of chocolate. I love the pastel colour of this blazer, it just is so prim and perfect. To contrast with the light happy colour I decided to go with my trusty Black High-Waisted shorts that I just can't seem to get enough of. As this outfit has quite an elegant feel to it I decided to match it with my wedged trainers to give it more of a relaxed style.
I have just entered my 3 month revision and exam period, so hopefully I will be able to blog more in the Easter holidays as it can been seen as a break. I am also hoping to do another video. However I'm trying to decide between a room tour, spring favourite's or daily make-up, What do you think?

Would love it if you could vote for me under the 'Best Teen Fashion Blog' category in the Company Style Blogger Awards - Here

Pinafores and Garage Doors

Wearing: Top - Market. Pinafore - New Look. Tights - Primark. Shoes - Schuh. Ring - Vintage Magpies (Asos Marketplace)
You cannot explain my happiness when I woke to sun blasting through my window. I am continuously hoping that Spring is coming and that the snow we saw at the beginning of the week was the last we'll see from this winter. So this morning I spent an hour in bed, with the sun shining in and reading 'The Host' which is Stephanie Meyer's new series that is coming out as a film today. It took me a while to get into it and to understand the world it is set in but now I can't put it down!
I love this outfit, not only is this pinafore incredibly comfy I think it adds a bit of a different angle on the outfit and spices up the shape of a skater skirt with the cross-over at the back. These tights are partially responsible for my love in patterned tights. I just think that they have a beautiful intricate flower pattern but there tights! Anyway I love this outfit because it still has a grunge feel to it from the monochrome theme but the pinafore and tights add the needed girly feel.

Clashing Complements

Wearing - Top - (actual dress) From H+M. Skirt - H+M. Shoes - Primark.
I was quite surprised at the result of this outfit. This is my sister's skirt from H+M which she bought a while ago, I had a sudden thought about matching it with my burgundy dress, I think it turned out quite nicely! Although my shoes are not very obvious they are some black simple suede wedges from Primark which are perfect for this kind of outfit to not stand out and blend in. It's not often I have my hair up in an outfit post but I thought to keep the detail of the bow it would be a nice change.
I have been thinking about various different up coming posts I could do. I really want to shoot another video sometime but it's quite time consuming. If anyone has any ideas about posts or video's they would like to see like a Room Tour or daily make-up look please let me know!

My New Love - Patterned Tights

Done on Polyvore
Over the last couple of weeks I have come to realise how much patterned tights changes your outfit.  In this small polyvore collage it shows all black tights with different pattern's one, some subtle ones like the second one in on the top left or some much bolder ones like the criss-cross on the bottom right. They become a bold statement if you wear subtler clothes with them. For example I often wear a white plain blouse with black high-waisted shorts then tights with bows on, these change the outfit to become more exciting and makes you stand out more. Whereas if you just wear a simple skater dress in a block colour and add some dotty tights it gives of a girly feel and just changes the outfit!  I just think that wearing patterned tights is an easy way of making your outfit a little bit different and takes you out of your comfort zone, which is never a bad thing!

Cities in the Country

Wearing: Top - Zara. Leggings - Urban Outfitters. Socks and Hat - Topshop. Boots - New Look.
I woke up this morning to the sun bursting through my deep red curtains. It was lovely, my morning consisted of reading in bed under a mass of blankets for an hour and then slowly getting up and then taking these photo's in the sunlight. It was a beautiful morning to take these photos as the sun was beaming and we decided to venture down the village a bit more to see where we could take the photos. I ended up sitting on a tree trunk and on a stile with fields and sheep roaming behind me.  I got this beanie and top on Sunday during a wonderful stay in Brighton with my sister and cousin. I've seen beanies around a lot recently and wondered if I could pull one off, I'm still not too sure but you never know unless you try, right? I also realised that I'm wearing two different cities in America; LA and New York which both, I desperately want to go to! I love half term purely because it gives me a chance to get up-to-date on posts and check up on everything!

Tough Love

Wearing: Jumper - Republic. Shorts - New Look. Shoes - Schuh.
It's weird, in some ways I cannot wait to grow up and be an adult, to be out of school and chasing my dreams etc etc...But today we threw away a lot of my 'childhood' stuff. Literally I felt like a part of me was being thrown out and my heart being torn apart. Okay, yeah that's a bit dramatic but it was heartbreaking stuff! I put my hair in two French plaits last night and loved the outcome this morning, with the dark shorts and double studs (on the shoes and jumper) I felt a bit like 'Dorrit' - Carries younger sister from The Carrie Diaries. I love dark grungy clothes but feel that because I have blonde hair I can get away with a mass of black greys and charcoal. At least I don't go overboard on Black eyeliner. Yet.
